Back from an eventful Gold Cup.
First of all what a 1st meeting for Sean McTaggart and Calum Pert ... outstanding racing from you both with strong times and no incidents.
We had issues in qualifying with the wet bike as it dropped a cylinder on the 1st flying lap and as I pulled in to the paddock it picked up again... we got back out for 2 flying laps and p8 row 3 but gutted as more time and I know it would have been better. I got a great start in race 1 up to p5 into mere only to drop to 2nd not 1st and bogged up the hill to down to p13 at the top and never recovered. Sunday was always harsh starting from row 5 getting squeezed into the mere so finished p12 and 11. It was the first time on the dry bike at Oliver's and got the gearing wrong so was screaming through esses .
Thank you for all the help from the pit crew  for sorting the bikes and cleaning them after every race and to Finlay Milne for helping to fix the wet bike on sat night after the evening buffet. And everyone in the Hedzup team for helping pack up on the Sunday
A huge thanks to the marshal's and entire Oliver's mount staff for a well run event and a speedy recovery to the walking wounded.. the track was not grippy
