Back from a superb weekend at the Gold cup. Free practice on Friday saw the new engine let go after a failed cam tensioner so the shop sent an engine down on Friday night and it was fitted by midnight with the pit crew doing an amazing job Jacko and Phil Knowles .... we qualified P11 doing my fastest at the mount to date a 2.05 so was buzzing for the race. On the Sat I managed to get in the top 10 with an average 2.02 lap times, Then on Sunday it just got better...Race 1 I was flying from the start getting up to P8 behind Paul Marley and finished with a sub 2 min lap on lap 2... 1.59.7.... the afternoon was just a blur after that and for once stopped on the bike .
Huge thanks to my staff looking after things while I play... my pit bitches, and to all that were there . Hope all the lads that crashed are ok especially Joe Akroyd after a nasty one at farm bends. and finally to Kristian Didelot who was on my spare bike after he had issues and had the courtesy to beat me only once ... great weekend mate. Last but not least... my best friend Anth (Academy refrigeration) doing his first road race and loving it with very respectable times including a 2.07on the supersport 600.
